Nora's father lives in Markham, about twenty minutes from her. He manages his own errands and appointments, but the porch light makes it hard to see an evening visitor through the front window. They installed an AIjia camera facing the step and practised opening the live view and speaking through the app.
One evening, a man carrying a toolbox rang the bell. Nora's father hadn't booked a repair. He checked the camera view and asked the visitor which address he needed. The man read out a house number two doors down. Nora's father pointed him in the right direction without opening the door.
Nora also has access to the camera. If her father wants a second look at someone outside, they can check the same view rather than trying to describe a shadow through the glass. On most days, though, he uses it himself. The camera gives him time to see and speak to a visitor before deciding what to do; it doesn't turn every doorbell into a call to his daughter.
They chose the angle together and tested it with Nora standing where a visitor would wait. Families who live apart can explore AIjia's plug-in model and battery-powered model, starting with the power available at a parent's front door.
