Taking Local Calls While Exhibiting at a Trade Show in China

Claire was about to open her booth at a trade show in Shanghai when the printer's delivery driver called. He had the replacement display board and needed to know where to bring it.

Her Montréal company made cycling bags. She had brought a bike so prospective distributors could try fitting the bags themselves. The previous evening, she had noticed a wrong measurement on the board beside the bike and arranged a corrected print with a local supplier.

Claire asked the driver which entrance he was at, then stepped into the aisle to check the nearest sign. Using her phone's mobile data, she sent him a photo of it and her booth number. Her colleague went to meet him while she stayed with the first visitors.

She had given the printer the mainland number on her iTalkBB China SIM. The card let her receive local calls and use mobile data during the show in mainland China. She had obtained the physical SIM and number at an iTalkBB store in Canada, completing the identity check before departure.

The new board went up beside the bike. Later that morning, a distributor slid a bag onto the rack, took it off and tried it again. He wanted to know whether the mounting clips came in different sizes. Claire showed him the spare set in her case and noted which rack he used.

By lunch, the corrected measurements were on display and she had several specific questions to follow up after the show. The printer's delivery was one less thing on her list.
